Grand Canyon Trip Was Awesome!
On October 5th, Carol, her husband Steve and others from her church flew to Arizona to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim...
all in one day. The weather was perfect! Not a cloud in the sky. This was Carol's first trip to see the canyon and all she could say
was, "Wow!" The hike took 16 hours and 24 minutes. "We took our time and really enjoyed God's majesty! I imagine some new
art will come out of all this :) "

Carol Wins Best 2 Dimensional Art in Willmar, MN Show
On September 20, 2008 Carol was an exhibitor at the Celebrate Art, Celebrate Coffee festival in Willmar, MN. There were many artists
there showing their oils, watercolors, etc. Towards the end of the show, Carol was handed a certificate for the Best 2 Dimensional Art
for the event. "I was very pleasantly surprised!! There were many talented artists there. I was quite honored to be chosen for the
award," said Carol after the show.
Featured Artist Spot in Hutchinson, MN Show
On September 12-13, 2008 Carol was the featured artist for the Hutchinson, MN Arts and Crafts Festival. Carol was given a double
space to show her work in. "The crowds were just great on Friday. Saturday rained quite a bit and the crowds thinned out pretty
fast. But I had a fun time showing the people my work. Even in the rain!!"
Carol Wins Award at Local Art Show
This last Labor Day Weekend was the annual Red Rooster Days Art Show in Dassel, MN. Carol entered her painting titled, "Running
Eagle Falls" into the competition and won 3rd place for 2 dimensional art.
Canterbury Show in November
Recently, Carol was accepted to exhibit her work at the Autumn Festival in Canterbury Park, Shakopee, MN this Nov. 13 - 16. This
is a HUGE show with over 500 artists showcasing their fine arts and fine crafts. This show has just been nominated as the 6th best
Fine Arts and Crafts show in the nation, according to Sunshine Artists Magazine. It is hosted by Huffman Productions, a very well
respected promoter in the fine arts community. If you are looking for the perfect gift for your loved ones this Christmas, you will be
sure to find it here! Come on out and see what Carol has to offer!!
Carol Attends an Oil Pastel Workshop, Spicer, MN - 8/08
Recently, Carol attended a fantastic oil pastel workshop by nationally known artist, Stephen Henning. Carol had met Stephen
earlier in the year at another art show and was so impressed by his work that she signed on to attend his workshop which was held
on a beautiful farm complete with flowering gardens, stylish out buildings and wooded surroundings near Spicer, MN. Stephen is
an award winning artist who loves to portray the midwestern landscape. His scenes are peaceful and inviting. And full of color!
"Attending the workshop was everything I hoped it would be. I wanted to learn to see color more fully when doing my oil paintings.
When I saw Stephen's work for the first time, I was so excited to meet an artist first hand that was doing in practice what I was
really wishing I could do! Really SEE color!"

Carol Exhibits at the Blueberry Art Festival, Ely, MN - 7/08
Nice sunny weather, cool breezes and large crowds greeted Carol at the Ely Blueberry Art Festival in northern Minnesota this year.
The annual show is held in a beautiful park in downtown Ely where over 300 booths display many creative fine arts and crafts from
the 5 state area and beyond. This was Carol's first time at the show and already she is making plans for next year's show!

Carol Wins Award at the Artists of MN Show - April 26, 2008
The Artists of MN conference was held in Brainard, MN this year. Many artists from all around the state brought their select few
pieces of art to enter into a judged competition on all levels. Carol was selected by the attending participants to receive the
"Creative Originality" award for her entry, "Wacipi Dancer". (see the People page of the gallery)
